What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu separates itself by utilizing leveraged based grappling over a striking system. It was proven to be the most effective martial art in the world in 1993 when Royce Gracie, a BJJ representative, defeated multiple bigger stronger opponents of other styles in a single night. BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, taking the fight to the ground – most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person.

Owner/Lead Instructor

Preston Bludworth

I’m a First Degree Black Belt under Professor Keith Owen and an affiliate of Team Rhino Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I’ve been training for over 25 years in martial arts since beginning 1998 and starting Jiu Jitsu in 2005. In 2011, I decided to begin teaching in Great Falls and have been building upon the local BJJ community ever since, teaching children and adults the discipline and effectiveness of this unique martial arts style.

I love Jiu Jitsu because it makes me confident to literally tackle any challenge life puts in front of me. It’s the celebration of patience and leverage over strength and anger.  Our school is the fastest growing kids martial arts program in Great Falls as well as the largest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program.

Reviews from you

This program has been wonderful for my 10 year old daughter. After watching a few of her classes I enrolled in the adult program shortly after and we have been hooked ever since.

Everybody and I mean everybody made me feel welcome. I would've never thought I was going to be in love with a martial art so quick, the people the atmosphere is amazing. I was a little hesitant at first because I have 2 knee surgeries on my left knee but BJJ has actually made my knee stronger and more flexible. I love it!

I love this program for my two daughters. Preston teaches the kids more then just BJJ. He teaches them confidence, discipline, and about bullying. I strongly recommend Great Falls BJJ to all families! A++ well worth the money.

We love Coach Preston and this incredible outlet for our kids. They learn so many valuable life lessons beyond the art of Jiu Jitsu. Honestly if Coach Preston was teaching basket weaving, we’d still be there 3x/week!
