FAQ

What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu separates itself by utilizing leveraged based grappling over a striking system. It was proven to be the most effective martial art in the world in 1993 when Royce Gracie, a BJJ representative, defeated multiple bigger stronger opponents of other styles in a single night. BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, taking the fight to the ground – most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person.
